All new students who have not previously registered to study at Unisa for a diploma/degree, but wish to register in 2013, must apply during the application period for admission to the relevant programme. The application process allows the university to evaluate whether you meet the requirements to study at Unisa or not. If you do not apply for admission, this evaluation cannot take place and you will not be able to register.

Application dates for the 2013 Academic year:

  1. ALL FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDING MASTER'S AND DOCTORS
APPLICATION DATES for first time students to Unisa formal qualifications
PERIOD AND CATEGORY APPLICATION OPENS CLOSES
Period 1: Semester 1/ Semester 2/ Year modules
Fax, post, web and selfhelp for all formal qualifications.		 Wednesday, 01 August 2012 for all formal qualifications Monday, 17 September 2012
(* Application fee and any outstanding documents must be submitted by 05 October 2012).
Period 2: Semester 2
Fax, post, web and selfhelp for all formal qualifications.		 Tuesday, 02 April 2013 Friday, 19 April 2013
(# Application fee and any outstanding documents must be submitted by 30 April 2013).
